Why This Resource Exists
Public court information can be spread across a statewide online system, local calendars, a county clerk's office, and different trial-court divisions. Stanly uses the North Carolina Judicial Branch Portal for eligible public case information after its October 2024 eCourts conversion. The Clerk of Superior Court remains the keeper of county files. The purpose here is to make those official routes easier to distinguish without implying that a private reference resource holds the court record.
What the Site Describes
The content focuses on public routes for case search, court dates, court records, criminal dockets, civil dockets, and traffic matters. It also explains basic differences among Superior Court, District Court, the magistrate function, the Portal's Case Summary and Case Events terms, and the clerk's certified-copy role. City pages explain why a municipal contact in Albemarle, Locust, Norwood, Oakboro, or Badin is often not the custodian for a State of North Carolina court case.
What the Site Cannot Provide
This site is privately operated and has no access to the official Stanly case-management system. It cannot retrieve a court file, certify a copy, change a hearing, remove a record, resolve a case, or advise a reader about legal rights. The clerk or court that maintains the original record must answer those case-specific questions.
Portal information is helpful for public research, but it is not the official court record. A certified copy must come from the Stanly Clerk of Superior Court.
Search Partner Notice
Some content pages carry a search box supplied by an outside provider. That provider operates its own service and sets any paid-service terms. If a visitor uses that tool and it leads to a paid enrollment, this site may receive a referral fee. Official court information should still be verified with the court or clerk that holds the record.
